A fun, upbeat soundtrack mixing hip-hop, R&B, and funk to match the film’s comedic superhero theme. The standout Prince-related track is the uplifting and funky Super Hero, which was also released as a promotional single.

CONTEXT & NOTES

"Super Hero" was originally written and recorded by Prince in 1992 (intended for Earth, Wind & Fire), then re-recorded in 1994 for this soundtrack. A third version later appeared in development for the NPG album Exodus. This marks one of Prince’s contributions to a major Hollywood comedy soundtrack during the symbol era.
