Ingrid Chavez was the whisper‑voiced poet whose presence helped shape Prince’s late‑’80s spiritual shift. Her soft, spoken‑word style influenced the dreamlike tone of Lovesexy, including the album’s guiding “Spirit” voice. She later collaborated with Prince on Graffiti Bridge and co‑wrote “Justify My Love,” leaving a subtle but lasting imprint on the Paisley Park era.
