Mazarati: The Purple Funk Edge
Mazarati was the sleek, street‑funk band formed by BrownMark and produced under Prince’s guidance at Paisley Park. Their 1986 debut delivered a darker, chrome‑plated twist on the Minneapolis Sound, including the original version of “Kiss,” which Prince later reclaimed. With tight grooves, attitude, and neon‑club aesthetics, Mazarati became one of the era’s most distinctive Prince‑associated acts.
