Wendy & Lisa: The Heart & Soul
Wendy Melvoin (guitar) & Lisa Coleman (keys) were childhood friends from musical families who became core members of Prince's band The Revolution in the 1980s. Lisa joined in 1980 for Dirty Mind, Wendy in 1983 replacing Dez Dickerson. Together they shaped Prince's iconic sound on Purple Rain (1984), Around the World in a Day (1985), and Parade (1986), co-writing hits like "Raspberry Beret," "Kiss," and "Sometimes It Snows in April." Their creative bond with Prince defined the era.
