“Fourth day of November, We need a purple high…”
Well, Warner Bros. in the UK certainly seemed to take that idea to heart.
On November 4, 1983, Little Red Corvette returned to Britain for a second time, now backed with the non-album Horny Toad and accompanied by a remarkable assortment of 7", 12" and poster editions.
What Prince actually meant when he singled out the fourth day of November is another matter. Perhaps we will never know.
But November 4 has another extraordinary place in history.
On November 4, 1922, Howard Carter's excavation uncovered the first step leading to Tutankhamun's tomb.

And for anyone wondering what on earth that has to do with Prince...
Egypt is where things become very interesting.
Those who followed Prince's online world closely during the 1990s may already have an idea where I'm going with this. There is material from that period that I remember very clearly, involving Prince, Mayte, Akhenaten and Nefertiti. I'm currently attempting to relocate the original source before presenting it as documented evidence.

What we don't have to speculate about is Emancipation itself.
Prince presented his freedom on an extraordinary three-disc album, with 12 songs and exactly 60 minutes of music on each disc, and indicated at the time that there was an Egyptian and pyramid connection behind those numbers.
Now, with Emancipation returning to the spotlight as part of Prince Celebration 2026, perhaps this is finally the right moment to put all these pieces on the table.

Not to manufacture connections that aren't there.
Not to turn coincidence into fact.
But to ask what Egypt, identity, ownership, marriage, transformation and ultimately freedom meant to Prince during one of the most extraordinary periods of his life.

PRINCE, EMANCIPATION & EGYPT
Freedom, Identity and the Search for a New Self
Some of this is documented.
Some of it is interpretation.
And one particularly fascinating piece of the puzzle I'm still trying to find.
This one goes deep. 💜
