THE STORY
Alongside the 6-track CD single, Purple Music also released the remixes on 12" vinyl in both standard black and limited picture disc editions. These vinyl versions contained four of the six mixes (the two Dominatrix mixes were omitted). The picture disc featured the same striking futuristic artwork as the CD. Both formats were sold through the Purple Music online store and aimed primarily at DJs and collectors.
CONTEXT & NOTES
These were the only vinyl releases ever issued for “Dance 4 Me”. The 12" picture disc is now a sought-after item among Prince vinyl collectors. The release formed part of Purple Music’s campaign to bring the 2009 MPLSound remixes to a physical format nearly three years after the original album.
