Prince and the New Power Generation (August 19, 1991) – "Gett Off" b/w "Horny Pony" 12" UK

Gett Off became the first single released from Diamonds And Pearls, marking Prince’s return to giving the New Power Generation co‑credit for the first time since The Revolution disbanded in 1986. The track was initially issued only as a DJ promo on 7 June 1991, Prince’s 33rd birthday, with 1,500 one‑sided 12" copies pressed and no commercial release planned.

Strong club response led to the song being added to the album and released worldwide as the lead single.

Gett Off reached number 21 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 6 on the Billboard Hot R&B Singles Chart. Horny Pony, originally intended for the album, became the B‑side. The maxi‑single included several tracks derived from Gett Off — Violet The Organ Grinder, Gangster Glam, and Clockin’ The Jizz — along with multiple remixes issued in different territories.

The single was re‑released in 2023 as part of the Diamonds And Pearls Singles collection, and the original near‑10‑minute promo mix was reissued

for Record Store Day on 24 November
