THE STORY

Released on 20 March 1995 as the first commercial single from Exodus by The New Power Generation, “Get Wild” originated as a U.S. promo tied to the Prêt-à-Porter soundtrack in late 1994. The European release introduced Beautiful Girl, an exclusive instrumental version of “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” featuring Eric Leeds on saxophone, along with “Hallucination Rain.” A full maxi-single followed with multiple club remixes continuing the standalone title style from The Beautiful Experience. The cassette maxi was branded The Wild Experience.

CONTEXT & NOTES

This release marked Prince’s continued mid-90s strategy of expansive remix packages under the NPG banner. It bridged the Prêt-à-Porter promo era into the Exodus campaign with strong club focus. The single reached No. 19 on the UK Gallup Singles Chart. No official reissues exist.
