  • Patti LaBelle (October 1, 1991) – Burnin' LP/CD/MC

Burnin' is the eleventh solo studio album by Patti LaBelle, released worldwide on October 1, 1991 through MCA Records. Issued on the same day as Diamonds And Pearls by Prince And The New Power Generation, the album continued the creative relationship established following Prince's contributions to Patti LaBelle's 1989 album Be Yourself. The album contains one Prince-related composition, I Hear Your Voice, written by Prince, Rosie Gaines and Francis Jules. The song was originally intended for Rosie Gaines before being recorded by Patti LaBelle. I Hear Your Voice was recorded by Prince in late April 1991. Patti LaBelle later added her lead vocal overdubs, creating the finished version that appeared on Burnin'. Recording sessions connected with the Prince contribution took place at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota and Larrabee Sound Studios in North Hollywood, California. PROMOTION The album produced four singles: • Feels Like Another One • Somebody Loves You Baby (You Know Who It Is) • When You've Been Blessed (Feels Like Heaven) • When You Love Somebody (I'm Saving My Love For You) None of the singles contained a Prince contribution. The album reached No. 71 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart and No. 9 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart. On February 26, 1992, Patti LaBelle won a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Performance for How Can I Ease The Pain, sharing the honour with Lisa Fischer. • The Time (October 1, 1990) – "Chocolate" b/w "My Drawers" Single: USA

"Chocolate" was released on October 1, 1990 as the second and final single from Pandemonium, the fourth album by The Time. Arriving almost three months after the album's release, the single continued the group's comeback campaign following their return from a five-year recording hiatus. 7" - USA - 7-19759 Although credited to The Time, the recording featured significant involvement from Prince, who participated as a writer, producer and performer. Despite his substantial contribution to the track, his involvement was not formally credited on the release. The single was supported by an extensive remix campaign headed by Keith "K.C." Cohen, resulting in multiple remix, instrumental and Percapella versions across commercial and promotional formats. 7" - USA - 7-19759 These alternate mixes significantly expanded the song beyond the original album version and reflected the growing importance of remix culture within late-1980s and early-1990s R&B and dance music marketing. For the B-side, The Time revisited "My Drawers", a track from their 1984 album Ice Cream Castle. Its inclusion created a direct link to the group's original era, as the song had previously appeared as the B-side to "The Bird" in 1985, the band's final single before their lengthy break. Promotional 12" - USA - PRO-A-4500 RECORDING "Chocolate" was written, produced and performed with uncredited involvement from Prince. Several remix versions were subsequently created by Keith "K.C." Cohen specifically for the single release campaign. "My Drawers" originated from Ice Cream Castle and was reused as the B-side for this release. STYLE & THEMES "Chocolate" blended contemporary Minneapolis funk and R&B with the polished production approach associated with Prince's Paisley Park projects of the period. Stickered CD single - USA - 9 21588-2 The remixes expanded the song's dance-floor appeal through extended club arrangements, instrumental versions and Percapella mixes intended for DJs and remix use. TRACK‑BY‑TRACK NOTES • Chocolate — The second and final single from Pandemonium. • Chocolate (12" Remix) — Extended remix by Keith "K.C." Cohen. • Chocolate (Tootsie Roll Club Mix) — Dance-oriented club remix prepared for promotional and commercial extended formats. • Chocolate (7" Remix / Edit) — Special radio-friendly remix version unavailable on the parent album. • Chocolate (Instrumental) — Instrumental remix prepared for DJs and club play. • Chocolate (Percapella) — Vocal and percussion-focused mix for remix and club use. • My Drawers — Album track from Ice Cream Castle reused as the B-side. RELEASE HISTORY Released in the United States on October 1, 1990 through Paisley Park Records and Reprise Records. The single was issued on 7-inch vinyl, 12-inch vinyl, cassette single, CD single, promo vinyl and promo CD. Unlike many Time releases, the campaign concentrated heavily on remix variations rather than non-album songs. "Chocolate" replaced "Pandemonium", which had originally been planned as the album's second single before being withdrawn for unknown reasons. Although the single failed to enter the Billboard Hot 100, it reached number 44 on Billboard's Hot R&B Singles chart. Within weeks of the release, The Time disbanded once again, making "Chocolate" the final single from the original reunion era. • Apollonia 6 (October 1, 1984) – Apollonia 6 LP/CD/MC

Released: October 1, 1984 (USA) / October 5, 1984 (UK) Apollonia 6 is the first and only album by Apollonia 6, the group assembled by Prince following the departure of Vanity from Vanity 6. Released shortly after the group's appearance in the film Purple Rain, the album followed the success of Sex Shooter, which was featured prominently in the movie. Apollonia 6 effectively replaced Vanity 6 within Prince's expanding musical empire and served as one of several side projects developed during the Purple Rain era. Stickered sleeve LP - USA - 1-25108 The album was produced by Prince under the pseudonym The Starr Company, although production credit was shared with Apollonia 6. All seven songs were written or co-written by Prince, but songwriting credits were distributed among members of Apollonia 6 and members of The Revolution. RECORDING By August 1983, Prince had already begun recording material intended for a second Vanity 6 album, including Sex Shooter, Promise To Be True, Vibrator and Wet Dream Cousin. Following Vanity's departure from Prince's organisation in July 1983, the Vanity 6 project was abandoned and ultimately transformed into Apollonia 6. With the exception of Sex Shooter, previously recorded Vanity 6 material was discarded and a largely new album was assembled. A Million Miles (I Love You), Ooo She She Wa Wa, Some Kind Of Lover and In A Spanish Villa were recorded in February 1984 at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, California. Blue Limousine was recorded at Sunset Sound in April 1984. The final recording completed for the album was Happy Birthday, Mr. Christian, tracked in August 1984 at the Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Additional recording work took place at Kiowa Trail Home Studio, Chanhassen, Minnesota. STYLE & THEMES The album combines Minneapolis sound, funk, pop and dance music with the glamorous and provocative themes associated with Prince's mid-1980s productions. The sequencing intentionally divides the album between an "Electric Side" and an "Acoustic Side", creating two distinctly different musical moods. The first side focuses on dance-driven material, while the second explores more melodic and atmospheric arrangements. Although released under the name Apollonia 6, the album remains closely tied to Prince's creative vision, featuring his songwriting, instrumentation, production and overall artistic direction throughout. TRACK-BY-TRACK NOTES • Happy Birthday, Mr. Christian — Opening track and the final recording completed for the album. • Sex Shooter — Lead single and the group's best-known recording, featured in Purple Rain. • Blue Limousine — Second single released from the album. • A Million Miles (I Love You) — Written by Prince and Lisa Coleman. • Ooo She She Wa Wa — Lead vocal by Susan Moonsie. • Some Kind Of Lover — Co-written by Brenda Bennett with uncredited contributions from Prince. • In A Spanish Villa — Acoustic-influenced closing track featuring Wendy Melvoin's guitar work. BONUS TRACKS None. RELEASE HISTORY Released in the United States on October 1, 1984 through Warner Bros. Records. Released in the United Kingdom on October 5, 1984. Issued on LP, cassette and later compact disc formats. The album remains the only studio album issued by Apollonia 6. • Prince And The New Power Generation (October 1, 1991) – Diamonds And Pearls Album

Released: October 1, 1991 (USA) Diamonds And Pearls is the thirteenth full-length studio album by Prince and the first album credited to Prince And The New Power Generation. Released on October 1, 1991, the album followed Graffiti Bridge by thirteen months and marked Prince's first album credited to a band since Parade by Prince And The Revolution in 1986. The release date was postponed several times, moving first from August 27 to September 10, then to September 17, before finally arriving in October 1991. 2xLP - Germany - 7599-25379-1 The album represented a major creative reset for Prince. Rather than relying on older vault recordings, every track included on the final release had been written and recorded during the fifteen months immediately preceding the album's release. The project also introduced a largely new lineup of musicians appearing under the New Power Generation banner and established the identity that would define Prince's music throughout the early 1990s. SESSIONS AND COMPILING Unlike many previous Prince albums, Diamonds And Pearls did not use updated vault recordings. All thirteen tracks were recorded specifically for the project between July 1990 and May 1991. The earliest recordings were Daddy Pop and Walk Don't Walk, both recorded in early July 1990 while Prince was in London, England during the Nude Tour. In early September 1990, sessions moved to Warner Pioneer Studios in Tokyo, Japan during the final dates of the Nude Tour, where Money Don't Matter 2 Night, Strollin' and Willing And Able were recorded. Insatiable followed in October 1990 at Larrabee Sound Studios in North Hollywood, California. In mid-November 1990, Prince recorded Diamonds And Pearls and Live 4 Love. These sessions marked the first participation of Tommy Barbarella with the developing New Power Generation lineup. Additional recording sessions took place at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota: • Cream was recorded in early December 1990. • Thunder, Jughead and Push were recorded during late January and early February 1991. • Gett Off was recorded in May 1991 and became the final track added to the album. At least four known early configurations of the album existed prior to the final running order, demonstrating the extensive development process that shaped the finished release. NEW POWER GENERATION INPUT The album introduced an almost entirely new band lineup, although an earlier version of the same group had toured with Prince during the Nude Tour. Michael B. handled drums on much of the album, while Sonny T. and Tommy Barbarella became central members of the recording lineup. Tommy Barbarella replaced Dr. Fink on keyboards, while Levi Seacer, Jr. moved from bass guitar to rhythm guitar. Rosie Gaines played a significant role through vocals and keyboards, while the Game Boyz trio of Tony M., Damon Dickson and Kirk Johnson added rap performances, percussion and backing vocals throughout the project. The stronger participation of the New Power Generation helped distinguish the album from Prince's previous studio releases and established a collaborative identity reflected in its official billing. Kirk Johnson would remain an important member of Prince's organisation for many years, later serving as drummer, confidant and eventually Prince's best man during his marriage to Mayte. Promotional LP - Venezuela - 35.034 PROMOTION Diamonds And Pearls generated six commercially released singles and one promotional radio-only release, making it one of the most extensively promoted albums of Prince's career. Prior to the album's release, Gett Off and Cream were issued as advance singles and helped establish the new identity of Prince And The New Power Generation Following the album's release, Insatiable, Diamonds And Pearls and Money Don't Matter 2 Night were released internationally. In the United Kingdom, Thunder received a commercial single release, while Willing And Able was serviced to American radio stations as a promotional-only release. Longbox CD - USA - 7599-25379-2 Prince further supported the album through the extensive Diamonds And Pearls Tour, which visited Europe, Japan and Australia. The tour concentrated heavily on material from the new album and formally introduced the New Power Generation as Prince's primary touring and recording band. RELEASE HISTORY Originally scheduled for release on August 27, 1991, the album underwent a series of postponements. The project was subsequently delayed to September 10, then September 17, before finally arriving worldwide in October 1991. Released by Paisley Park Records and Warner Bros. Records, the album appeared on CD, cassette and double-LP formats. With a running time of 65 minutes and 48 seconds, it became one of Prince's longest studio albums to that point. In 2023, the album was remastered by Bernie Grundman under the supervision of the Prince Estate for the Diamonds And Pearls (Super) Deluxe Edition reissue programme. • Prince (October 16 / November 20 2001) The Rainbow Children - Album

The Rainbow Children is Prince’s twenty-fourth studio album, a conceptual work with strong spiritual and religious themes influenced by his Jehovah’s Witnesses faith. It was his first album released under the name Prince since 1996. RELEASE DETAILS Artist: Prince Label: NPG Records / Redline Entertainment Catalogue: 70004-1 Format: 2×LP Country: Worldwide Released: October 16, 2001 (NPG Music Club download) / November 20, 2001 (retail) Genre: Rock, Funk / Soul, Jazz, Gospel Length: 68:49 THE STORY A narrative-driven album telling the story of the Rainbow Children, spiritual enlightenment, temptation, banishment, and redemption. The album features extended jams, jazz influences, and a continuous conceptual flow, highlighted by tracks like “Rainbow Children,” “The Work Pt. 1,” and “Family Name.” CONTEXT & NOTES Recorded primarily at Paisley Park in late 2000–early 2001, this was Prince’s return to using his birth name. The album was previewed during the 2001 Celebration event and served as the foundation for the One Nite Alone... Tour. It was initially available as a single untracked download to NPG Music Club members. It is the first album released outside of the NPG Music Club to be released under the name of Prince again, as he had reverted to his previous stage name from his symbolic moniker a year earlier. It was released on double vinyl with a glossy color booklet, and was not available on vinyl again until the Legacy release in 2020. This concept album illustrates common Prince themes of spirituality and human sexuality, as well as love and racism, through the fictitious story of a social movement toward a Martin Luther King Jr.-inspired utopian society. The album seems to allude to his recent intrest in the Jehovah's Witnesses denomination, but Egyptian monotheism and New Age concepts such as the Akashic records are used as metaphors as well. Jazzier than any of his previous efforts, it was met with mixed reactions. Some fans saw the album as a musical and spiritual evolution for Prince. The Rainbow Children was released through the independent distributor Redline Entertainment. At Prince's decision, it received minimal promotion, as he wanted to focus more on the music and avoid commercialism. The album sold 158,000 copies in US stores as of summer 2007, with an estimated 560,000 copies worldwide. The album also had a dedicated promotional website that offered the tracks "She Loves Me 4 Me" and "Mellow" as free MP3 downloads. The domain is currently for sale. The album cover features Cbabi Bayoc's "The Reine Keis Quintet". Prince favored the painting of a women's band, as he was backed by an all-female ensemble. • PRINCE (October 16, 1989) – "The Arms Of Orion" b/w "I Love U In Me" Format: 7" Single: US

"The Arms Of Orion" was issued as the third single from Prince's eleventh studio album, Batman. The single was released in the United States on October 16, 1989, approximately four months after the release of the parent album and continued the commercial association between the Batman album and the 1989 film. The release featured the edited single version of "The Arms Of Orion" backed with the previously unreleased track "I Love U In Me". The appearance of "I Love U In Me" made the release particularly notable, as the song had not previously appeared on album or single. 7" - USA - 7-22757 The single received worldwide distribution. It was subsequently issued in the United Kingdom on November 6, 1989 and was released in multiple formats including 7-inch vinyl, 12-inch vinyl, cassette single and CD single. The release achieved moderate chart success internationally, reaching number 36 on the US Billboard Hot 100, while also charting in Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. 7" - USA - 7-22757 RECORDING "The Arms Of Orion" originated from the Batman album. The commercial 7-inch release used a dedicated edit running 3:52 rather than the full album version. "I Love U In Me" was issued as a previously unreleased recording. STYLE & THEMES The single combined the edited version of "The Arms Of Orion" with the previously unreleased "I Love U In Me". Various formats expanded the package through inclusion of both the full-length album version and the shorter single edit, allowing listeners access to multiple versions of the title track. Promo CD single - USA - PRO-CD-3787 TRACK‑BY‑TRACK NOTES • The Arms Of Orion (Edit) — The 3:52 single version selected for the commercial 7-inch release and featured across multiple formats. • I Love U In Me — A previously unreleased recording issued as the principal B-side. • The Arms Of Orion — The full-length 5:03 album version included on 12-inch and CD configurations. Promo CD single - USA - PRO-CD-3787 RELEASE HISTORY Released in the United States on October 16, 1989, "The Arms Of Orion" became the third commercial single taken from Batman. The release followed Partyman and continued promotion of the Batman project around the world. A United Kingdom release followed on November 6, 1989. The single was issued on 7-inch vinyl, 12-inch vinyl, cassette and CD formats. As with Partyman, the CD edition was available as a 3-inch CD single. The artwork continued the visual themes associated with the Batman campaign and utilised a variation of the familiar Batman logo. An experimental multimedia component was included on the CD single.
