Burnin' is the eleventh solo studio album by Patti LaBelle, released worldwide on October 1, 1991 through MCA Records.
Issued on the same day as Diamonds And Pearls by Prince And The New Power Generation, the album continued the creative relationship established following Prince's contributions to Patti LaBelle's 1989 album Be Yourself.
The album contains one Prince-related composition, I Hear Your Voice, written by Prince, Rosie Gaines and Francis Jules. The song was originally intended for Rosie Gaines before being recorded by Patti LaBelle.
I Hear Your Voice was recorded by Prince in late April 1991.
Patti LaBelle later added her lead vocal overdubs, creating the finished version that appeared on Burnin'.
Recording sessions connected with the Prince contribution took place at Paisley Park Studios in Chanhassen, Minnesota and Larrabee Sound Studios in North Hollywood, California.
PROMOTION
The album produced four singles:

None of the singles contained a Prince contribution.
The album reached No. 71 on the US Billboard Top Pop Albums chart and No. 9 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart.
On February 26, 1992, Patti LaBelle won a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Performance for How Can I Ease The Pain, sharing the honour with Lisa Fischer.
