THE STORY

Miss Thang was released as the lead single from T.C. Ellis’s debut album True Confessions. Written, produced, and largely performed by Prince, the track introduced Ellis to the public with a strong Minneapolis funk sound typical of early ’90s Paisley Park releases.

CONTEXT & NOTES

This single features an extensive suite of Prince-influenced remixes. It served as the public launch for the True Confessions album. Despite strong promotional support, the single did not chart.
