THE STORY

Released as an exclusive covermount with the October 2018 issue of Rolling Stone Germany to promote the album Piano & A Microphone 1983. The A-side presents an edited piano-and-vocals version of “17 Days” from the 1983 home recordings, while the B-side features the well-known single edit of “1999”.

CONTEXT & NOTES

This 7" was not available separately and came only with the magazine. It highlights Prince’s intimate 1983 home studio recordings alongside one of his biggest hits, serving as a bridge between his early ’80s material and the 2018 archival release.
