THE STORY

“Dinner With Delores” was released a month before the Chaos and Disorder album. A few days prior to the single’s release, on 7 June 1996, Warner Bros. streamed the song in RealAudio format on a dedicated website — one of the first official online premieres of an O(+> track. The song is a mid-tempo, funky track typical of this era.

CONTEXT & NOTES

In the US, “Dinner With Delores” was strictly a promotional release aimed at radio and press (CD and cassette promos). No commercial retail single was issued in America. The track did not achieve significant chart success in the US but reached No. 36 on the UK Gallup Singles Chart. This period was during O(+>’s symbol-name era and marked the final stages of the Warner Bros. contract.
