THE STORY
Black Sweat was the second single released from Prince’s 31st studio album 3121 (2006). It was issued as a double A-side with “Beautiful, Loved & Blessed” (featuring Tamar), which appears here in a slightly different version from the album cut (originally planned for Tamar’s own album).
The single was first made available as a download on 21 February 2006, with each purchase entering fans into the “Purple Ticket” contest to win tickets to a private Prince performance at his 3121 residence in Los Angeles on 6 May 2006. Physical formats (including this enhanced CD) followed in March 2006. The release also included the “Black Sweat” music video directed by Sanaa Hamri.
