THE STORY

Black Sweat was the second single released from Prince’s 31st studio album 3121 (2006). It was issued as a double A-side with “Beautiful, Loved & Blessed” (featuring Tamar), which appears here in a slightly different version from the album cut (originally planned for Tamar’s own album).

The single was first made available as a download on February 21, 2006, with each purchase entering fans into the “Purple Ticket” contest to win tickets to a private Prince performance at his 3121 residence in Los Angeles on May 6, 2006. Physical formats (including this enhanced CD) followed in March 2006. The release also included the “Black Sweat” music video directed by Sanaa Hamri.
