THE STORY

N.E.W.S. is Prince’s 27th studio album and his second successive all-instrumental project. Initially released to NPG Music Club members in June 2003, it received a wider retail release the following month. The album consists of four extended 14-minute tracks, each representing a cardinal direction.

It continued Prince’s exploration of jazz and funk territories during this period before he returned to vocal pop/rock with Musicology the following year.
