THE STORY
“Screwdriver” was released digitally and as a promo CDr in early 2013 through Prince’s collaboration with Swiss label Purple Music. Although it predates the album, it was later included on HitNRun Phase Two (2015). The track was heavily promoted to radio stations, with its music video premiering on Prince’s official website in January 2013.
CONTEXT & NOTES
This promo CDr features distinctive “Screwdriver” artwork with the Purple Music logo. It was part of a targeted European radio campaign. The single contains only the main studio version and was made available digitally across multiple platforms (iTunes, Amazon, JunoDownload, 3rdEyeGirl.com). It is considered the third single from the HitNRun Phase Two project in retrospect.
