THE STORY Released in the United Kingdom on February 15, 1985, this double-A-side 7" single paired two major Purple Rain tracks: the high-energy sermon-funk of “Let’s Go Crazy” with the warm, melodic duet “Take Me With U.” Unlike the US, where the songs were released separately, the UK received this special configuration at the height of Prince’s imperial era. The single was pressed in multiple label variants and performed strongly on the UK chart.

CONTEXT & NOTES This UK-exclusive release captured the full spectrum of the Purple Rain sound — explosive rock-funk on one side and breezy pop on the other. Multiple manufacturing variations (paper, silver, red, and blue injection labels) make it highly collectible today. It marked one of the final singles from the Purple Rain campaign in the UK market.
