A stunning limited‑edition picture disc celebrates Prince and The Revolution’s psychedelic 1985 classic with newly remastered audio and exclusive packaging
✦ — SUMMARY
Released in the United States on November 21, 2025 by NPG Records / Paisley Park (catalogue: 19802973431), this limited‑edition picture disc LP brings Prince and The Revolution’s Around the World in a Day back into the spotlight for its 40th anniversary. Originally issued in 1985 as the follow‑up to Purple Rain, the album marked a bold shift into psychedelic pop, Middle Eastern textures, Minneapolis funk and richly layered studio experimentation.
This 2025 picture disc edition features newly remastered audio by Bernie Grundman, with additional mastering by Chris James. Housed in a foil‑wrap cover with a die‑cut front window, the release includes a two‑sided card insert with lyrics and credits, plus a protective plastic inner sleeve. Manufactured by Memphis Record Pressing and plated at GZ Media, the edition was sold exclusively through Prince.com..
The reissue highlights the album’s enduring influence and its run of iconic singles — Raspberry Beret, Paisley Park, Pop Life and America — each of which charted differently across territories during the album’s original release.

✦ — PRODUCTION & CONTEXT
Around the World in a Day was originally released on 22 April 1985 as Prince’s seventh studio album and the second credited to Prince and The Revolution. Following the global success of Purple Rain, Prince pivoted sharply into a more introspective, psychedelic and experimental soundworld.
The 2025 remaster preserves the album’s vibrant textures while enhancing clarity and depth. Bernie Grundman — who mastered the original 1985 release — returned to oversee the new remaster, with additional mastering by Chris James.
The picture disc edition forms part of a broader anniversary campaign that also included multi‑format reissues, Dolby Atmos mixes and expanded deluxe editions.
