Around the World in a Day Album: 2025

Prince and The Revolution's 1985 album was reissued across a number of formats to mark the album’s 40th anniversary.

The album featured the hit singles ‘Raspberry Beret’, ‘Paisley Park’, ‘Pop Life’ and ‘America’. These weren’t released across all territories and were received differently when they were originally released.

For example, ‘Pop Life’ was a top 10 hit in the US but stalled at No. 60 in the UK. Similarly, ‘Raspberry Beret’ reached No. 2 in America but peaked at No. 25 in the UK, where ‘Paisley Park’ did moderately better (No. 18 in the UK, not released in the US).

The album didn’t reach number one in Britain either, where despite all his critical success, Prince had to wait for 1988’s Lovesexy before the commercial validation of topping the UK album chart.

Limited blue marble vinyl edition of Around The World in a Day

The audio for this reissue campaign was newly remastered by Bernie Grundman, and 2CD and 3LP deluxe editions featured bonus remixes, including the near 22-minute version of ‘America’. Bonus tracks were not identical across both deluxe sets: The 3LP vinyl featured nine tracks while the 2CD featured 13.

All other formats featured the remastered 9-track album. These were limited blue marbled vinyl LP, black vinyl, and single CD. Around the World in a Day was remixed in Dolby Atmos, but disappointingly, a Blu-ray Audio version was not part of this reissue campaign. Hopefully, one may have emerged later.

Around the World in a Day was reissued on November 21, 2025, via Rhino.
