Around the World in a Day was reissued on 21 November 2025 via Rhino to mark the album’s 40th anniversary. Originally released in 1985, the album followed the global success of Purple Rain and showcased Prince’s shift toward psychedelic pop, Middle Eastern textures, and richly layered studio experimentation.

he reissue highlights the album’s enduring influence and its run of iconic singles — Raspberry Beret, Paisley Park, Pop Life and America — each of which charted differently across territories during the album’s original release.

“Paisley Park” was released on May 24 1985 as the second single from Around The World In A Day, though in the UK, Europe, and Australia it functioned as the lead single from the album. It arrived five weeks after the album’s release — on the very same day Prince recorded “Hello” in the studio.
