Prince, Sheena Easton, and Camille collide in a neon‑lit Sign O’ The Times showdown
— SUMMARY
“U Got The Look” was released on July 21, 1987 as the third single from Prince’s Sign O’ The Times album. Arriving three and a half months after the LP, the single received a worldwide release and was backed with “Housequake,” also from the album. The US 12" edition featured the extended “Long Look” version of the title track along with multiple mixes of “Housequake.”
The song features vocals from Sheena Easton and percussion from Sheila E., though neither is credited on the single sleeve. Prince also credited himself as “Camille” for additional vocals, continuing the gender‑bending persona introduced earlier in the album sessions.
The single became one of the biggest hits of the era, reaching No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and remaining on the chart for 25 weeks. It was later reissued in 2020 as part of the Sign O’ The Times Singles Collection.
