THE STORY The Daisy Chain was first made available on April 14, 2001 at Prince’s Hit N Run Tour performance at the Atlanta Civic Center. Sold exclusively at concerts alongside Peace and Supercute, it was a limited tour-only release with no commercial distribution. The single was also sold during the Celebration festival at Paisley Park in June 2001. Both tracks were originally intended for the New Power Generation’s planned (and ultimately aborted) 2000 album Peace.

CONTEXT & NOTES Following its physical release, both tracks were made available as downloads through the NPG Music Club. “The Daisy Chain” later appeared on The Slaughterhouse and “Gamillah” on The Chocolate Invasion. This was the final physical release credited to The New Power Generation. Due to its extremely limited distribution, the single was not eligible for chart placement.
