THE STORY
Released on January 13, 1997 as the second promotional-only single from Emancipation, “Somebody’s Somebody” was issued exclusively in the US. While no commercial single was released in any territory, some of its mixes later appeared on the UK commercial single for “The Holy River”. The promos featured exclusive edits and mixes not included on the album.
CONTEXT & NOTES
This release continued the promotional campaign for Emancipation with club-friendly and radio edits. The CD promos included a rare spoken “On Sale Now!” advertisement. The project was affected by EMI’s internal restructuring, limiting its visibility.
