THE STORY Released on April 5, 2019, “Rock ’N’ Roll Is Alive! (And It Lives In Minneapolis)” was issued as a free 7" vinyl single given to all attendees at the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Miami Heat game at Target Center. The same day, the A-side became available digitally worldwide for the first time. Originally the B-side to the 1995 single “Gold,” the track was revived as part of a season-long Prince tribute series at the Timberwolves arena, with the New Power Generation performing during halftime.

CONTEXT & NOTES This release marked the final night of a season-long Prince tribute series by the Timberwolves. The 7" vinyl was a limited promotional giveaway, while the digital single brought the track to streaming platforms for the first time.
