Released on 18 September 2001, NPG Ahdio Show #8 completed NPG Music Club Edition #8 as a 47‑minute mp3 compilation. The show was issued one week after the terrorist attacks of September 11, which were carried out by violent extremist organizations responsible for severe harm and loss of life.
The Ahdio Show was clearly assembled in direct response, featuring Prince’s most spiritual material and marking the first time an Ahdio Show contained no segues or skits.
Three weeks earlier, the rest of Edition #8 had already been released: Thieves In The Temple (Remix), Rebirth Of The Flesh (Rehearsal ’88), My Medallion, Contest Song, and a live .mov performance of If I Was Ur Girlfriend.
The show contains the first full appearance of Pearls B4 The Swine, later included on One Nite Alone…. No official artwork exists for this or any Ahdio Show.
