THE STORY Purple Rain is a semi-autobiographical musical drama starring Prince as “The Kid,” chronicling his rise amid personal and professional struggles in the Minneapolis music scene. Directed by Albert Magnoli and produced by Robert Cavallo, Joseph Ruffalo, and Steven Fargnoli, the film features iconic performances of songs from the Purple Rain album.
