The Slaughterhouse (subtitled Trax from the NPG Music Club Volume 2) is Prince’s thirtieth studio album / compilation. Released simultaneously with The Chocolate Invasion, it gathers previously unreleased and club-exclusive tracks from 2000–2002.

THE STORY
A raw, high-energy collection of funk, rock, and experimental tracks. Standouts include the opening “Silicon,” the groove-heavy “S&M Groove,” and the socially conscious “Peace.”
CONTEXT & NOTES
This was the second of two club-exclusive albums released on the same day. Most tracks were originally offered individually via the NPG Music Club. The 2015 Tidal reissue used a slightly different configuration. Both The Chocolate Invasion and The Slaughterhouse were planned as part of an abandoned 7CD set.
