The Chocolate Invasion (subtitled Trax from the NPG Music Club Volume One) is Prince’s twenty-ninth studio album / compilation. It collects previously unreleased and club-exclusive tracks from 2000–2002, released as a companion piece to The Slaughterhouse.

THE STORY
A collection of strong, unreleased material featuring extended funk grooves, rock energy, and sensual tracks. Standouts include “Judas Smile,” “Supercute,” “Vavoom,” and the title track.
CONTEXT & NOTES
This was the first of two club-exclusive albums released on the same day (The Slaughterhouse being the other). Most tracks were originally offered individually via the NPG Music Club between 2001 and 2002. The 2015 Tidal reissue used a slightly different configuration (replacing “The Dance” with “My Medallion”).
