A raw One Nite Alone–era document, captured live in Montreal and released within days
— SUMMARY
“Days Of Wild” was recorded live on June 18, 2002 at the Centre Molson – Hémicycle in Montreal, Quebec, Canada during the One Nite Alone… Tour. The recording was captured directly from the mix console by Prince’s longtime sound engineer Scottie Baldwin, giving the release a uniquely immediate, unpolished energy.
The first edition — a one‑track CD single — was given exclusively to attendees of the Xenophobia Celebration on June 27, 2002, just nine days after the performance. A wider (though still limited) three‑track edition followed on August 27, 2002, available via mail‑order and at shows.
Although the title track had previously appeared in a different live form on Crystal Ball, this release is often referred to informally as Days Of Wild (Live in Montreal) for clarity. The single is credited to Prince & The NPG, marking the first co‑credit with the band since 1993’s “The Morning Papers.”
Despite being recorded during the One Nite Alone… Tour, the Montreal performance was not included on One Nite Alone… Live! — though the live version of “1+1+1=3” from April 6, 2002 (in slightly longer form) was.
The release was limited and not eligible for chart placement.
