Work began in 1990 while Rosie Gaines was in The New Power Generation. After leaving the band and the closure of Paisley Park Records, she completed the project for Motown. It includes Prince-associated tracks and a Bob Marley cover. Earlier versions of some songs appeared on the unreleased Concrete Jungle project.
CONTEXT & NOTES
The US edition features a unique track listing with two versions of “I Want U”. A 1997 remix of the title track became a major club hit. A 20th Anniversary expanded digital edition was released in 2015.
