THE STORY BEHIND IT
Recorded in Spring 2001 at Paisley Park, One Nite Alone… captures Prince in a stripped‑back, confessional mode. The album was created during the mastering of The Rainbow Children and reflects the same spiritual and introspective themes. With only two tracks featuring drums by John Blackwell, the album is dominated by solo piano and voice, with Prince’s doves Divinity and Majesty credited for ambient singing. The album’s title inspired the One Nite Alone… Tour, which began months before the album’s release. For nearly two decades, the album remained unavailable commercially until its 2020 vinyl and box‑set reissue.

GLAM FLASHBACK
One Nite Alone… remains one of Prince’s most intimate and revealing works. Stripped of band arrangements and studio gloss, the album showcases his piano playing, emotional vulnerability, and spiritual introspection. Long unavailable to the public, it became a sought‑after collector’s item until its 2020 reissue.
