Target Practice is the first and only studio EP by Heroine December, led by Maya McClean and Nandy McClean. Following their 2011 single Weekend, the EP marked their debut as recording artists after years performing as “The Twinz” in Prince’s band (2005–2008). The seven‑track project includes Balloon, co‑written (or arranged) with Prince, making it the EP’s primary Prince‑related contribution.
The EP was recorded mainly between 2012 and 2013, with an intended December release. Maya McClean (and likely Nandy McClean) wrote Balloon and played it for Prince, who suggested chord and musical changes that were incorporated into the final studio version. The EP was released digitally worldwide, with CD copies available at select Heroine December shows.
Promotion included the digital single Balloon on 14 February 2014, followed by Yesterday in May. The EP did not enter the charts.
