Digital Release — No Label / No Catalogue Number

Released: March 26, 2005 (Worldwide)

A preview of 3121 nearly a year early — a raw, intimate live take from the Vanguard Jam.

On March 26, 2005, the NPG Music Club released a short live version of “Satisfied”, recorded during the celebrated Vanguard Jam sessions. Although the studio version would not appear until Prince’s 31st studio album, 3121, in March 2006, this early live clip gave fans a first glimpse of the song’s soulful structure and vocal delivery. The following week, the full Vanguard Jam medley — including “Satisfied” — was made available as a downloadable video. Later, additional live versions surfaced on 3121.com in 2007, and a third 2007 performance was officially released on the Indigo Nights live album in 2008. As an NPGMC‑exclusive digital drop, this 2005 version has no Discogs‑verified physical edition.

🟣 Production and Context

“Satisfied” would later become one of the standout tracks on 3121, but this early live version captures the song in its formative stage — stripped down, intimate, and delivered with the improvisational looseness of the Vanguard Jam. Prince frequently used NPGMC to preview works‑in‑progress, and this drop exemplifies his direct‑to‑fan philosophy during the mid‑2000s. The later 2007 performances and the Indigo Nights release show how the song evolved in a live setting.
