Prince's Iconic Soundtrack Remastered
Released as a deluxe 2-CD edition in Europe on June 23, 2017, by Warner Bros. Records / NPG Records (catalogue: 9362-49304-3), Prince and The Revolution’s Purple Rain received a comprehensive remastered reissue. This set includes the original 2015 Paisley Park remaster of the classic 1984 soundtrack album plus a second disc of vault and previously unreleased tracks, housed in a cardboard gatefold wallet with a 16-page booklet featuring track-by-track liner notes.

Recorded at The Warehouse (St. Louis Park), Sunset Sound, First Avenue, and Record Plant Mobile Studio. Overdubs at Sunset Sound. Remastered at Paisley Park Studios and Bernie Grundman Mastering. Produced, arranged, composed, and performed by Prince and The Revolution (core tracks). Reissue producer: Michael Howe. Remastered by Bernie Grundman (vault tracks) and Prince (original album). Remastering engineer: Joshua A.M. Welton. Comes in a cardboard gatefold wallet with 16-page booklet. Made in Germany.
Legacy
