Marc Bolan and Gloria Jones’ "To Know You Is to Love You" backed with "City Port", was released as a 7-inch vinyl single in the UK by EMI Records (catalog number EMI 2570) on January 14, 1977.

The song was penned by Phil Spector, drawing inspiration from the inscription on his father's gravestone, "To Know Him Was to Love Him." It was initially recorded by The Teddy Bears, the sole vocal group he was part of. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks in 1958 and reached No. 2 on the UK's New Musical Express chart. Peter & Gordon and Bobby Vinton later found chart success with the song, retitled and lyrically adjusted to the gender-neutral "To Know You Is to Love You," in 1965 and 1968, respectively.
