A Surreal New Wave Nibble

The Tubes’ “Sushi Girl” 7-inch vinyl single, was released in the UK on October 9, 1981, on Capitol Records (catalogue: CL 219). Backed with “Mr. Hate,” this eccentric new wave track, written by the band, was from their sixth album, The Completion Backward Principle. Produced by David Foster, the A-side’s satirical lyrics and quirky melody parodied exotic romance and consumerism.

The single was a UK only release.
