Mud’s “Dyna-Mite” 7-inch vinyl single, was released in the UK on October 5, 1973, on RAK Records (catalogue: RAK 159). Backed with “Do It All Over Again,” this infectious glam rock anthem, written by Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, marked Mud’s breakthrough into the UK charts. Produced by Chinn and Chapman, the A-side’s stomping beat, Les Gray’s cheeky vocals, and catchy hooks entered the BBC UK Singles Chart at number 34 on October 21 - October 27 and propelled it to No. 4 on two occasions, November 4 - November 10, 1973, and November 18 - November 24, on the UK Singles Chart for 12 weeks. Housed in a RAK company sleeve, it’s a defining hit of Mud’s glam era.

The single was released on 7" vinyl record format by the RAK music label. The B-side was "Do It All Over Again". In Australia, the single was released by RAK as "Dynamite", without the hyphen in the title.

The song is featured in the soundtrack of the 2013 film Rush.

A cover of the song, performed by Matthew Porretta, occurs in the 2019 videogame Control.
