Partyman / Cool (also known as Prince Du Parc) 7" single was sold exclusively available through the Paris Saint-Germain football team’s official website, coinciding with the announcement of unique apparel from a collaboration between Paris Saint-Germain and The Prince Estate. The a-side features the single edit of Partyman, initially released on the Partyman single in 1989. The b-side includes a live version of Cool from Prince and 3rdEyeGirl’s last performance in Paris on June 1, 2014, at Le Zénith, Paris, France (second show). Although the b-side is marked as "previously unreleased," the performance was actually broadcast in November 2015 as part of the "Crazy2Cool" medley from the show on 89.3 The Current, with a video of the 21-minute medley made available for streaming on Tidal the following month.
The single was exclusively released on purple vinyl and could be purchased in-person on the release day without any prior announcement.
Despite being labeled as a Single Edit, the record includes the album version of Partyman (Batman, along with its intro sampled from the movie).
The title "Prince Du Parc" for this single is a play on words referencing the name of Paris Saint-Germain’s stadium, Parc des Princes. Notably, the cover image by Jeff Katz was also used to promote Prince’s sole live performance at the stadium on June 16, 1990, during the Nude Tour's eleventh date. However, neither track on the single was recorded at that show. "Partyman" was performed there, but "Cool" wasn't played by Prince until much later in his career.
