When The Daylight Comes by Ian Hunter was released in the UK accompanied by ' Life After Death' as the B-side, the released failed to achieve any chart success.

Both tracks were taken from the album You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic also released in March 1979, the album featured members of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band as the backing band. AllMusic considers the album to be Hunter's best.
