Released their self-titled and sole studio album. The band was a power trio consisting of guitarist Jeff Beck (previously a member of The Yardbirds), bassist Tim Bogert, and drummer Carmine Appice (both formerly with Vanilla Fudge and Cactus).
The album features Beck's rendition of "Superstition," a song penned by Stevie Wonder. The track emerged from a jam session between Beck and Wonder, during which Beck contributed the song's iconic opening drum part. As a gesture of gratitude for Beck's involvement in "Talking Book," Wonder allowed Beck to record and release the song as his own single. However, due to delays in the release of the Beck, Bogert & Appice album, Wonder's version was released first.
Also Rod Stewart fans may note that Carmine Appice , was a member of the Rod Stewart band from 1976, co-writing songs such as "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" and "Young Turks". He also played drums on a track on Paul Stanley's eponymous solo album (1978).
