Tyrannosaurus Rex’s "King of the Rumbling Spires" was released as a 7-inch vinyl single in the UK by Regal Zonophone (catalog number RZ 3022)
Produced by Tony Visconti, who also played bass and electric organ, the track featured Bolan on multiple electric guitars (Fender Stratocaster) and Took on a toy drum kit.

The single, backed with "Do You Remember," was a minor hit, charting for one week at 44 in the UK.
Reviews at the time, such as in Melody Maker, called it Bolan’s most commercial work yet, with some labeling it “electrified teenybopper.”
