Prince's twenty-first studio album, included as the fourth CD in the Crystal Ball box set. The album's arrangements primarily feature acoustic guitar, enhanced by intricate production effects, layered vocals, and occasional percussion and percussive elements. A CD single with the album's first two tracks was released beforehand. In 2018, NPG Records made The Truth available digitally on platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Tidal, and Apple Music. In 2021, a special limited vinyl edition of The Truth was released for Record Store Day.
