Released as a 7-inch vinyl single in the UK on January 11, 1974, on Polydor Records (catalogue: 2001 490), Lulu’s “The Man Who Sold The World” — backed with “Watch That Man” — was David Bowie’s glam classic reimagined. Produced by Bowie & Mick Ronson, this cover entered the Official Singles Chart on January 26, 1974, peaked at No. 3, and charted for 9 weeks until March 23, 1974. Bowie’s first UK Top 10 hit as a writer since 1972.
