released as a 7-inch vinyl single in the UK by Jet Records (catalog number JET 779) on August 20, 1976 Roy Wood’s "Any Old Time Will Do" backed with "The Rain Came Down on Everything", was

taken from Roy’s second solo album, Mustard, which marked a shift from the pastoral, homemade style of his debut Boulders (1973) to a grander, more layered pop sound. The album, entirely performed and produced by Wood, drew influences from the Beach Boys, the Andrews Sisters, and Led Zeppelin, showcasing his eclectic style.
